We should be receiving more from Bullyland shortly and from HaPe – a really wonderful producer of wood toys – traditional yet contemporary and very imaginative.

The neighborhood is called Northern Liberties and is a lovely, peacefull place north of Philadelphias Center City.  There are lots of boutiques, galleries, cafes and restaurants spread throughout so if you're in town, keep Northern Liberties in mind during your visit.

They look great so far, with more coming in next month.  The new releases showing are what we can ship right now.  We are going to upload the rest of the 2008 releases later in the month and make them available for pre-order.

Hi all,

We just received the first of the new Safair LTD 2008 releases and they do not disappoint!  They have created their own Lioness with Cub figurine, a new series of farm family figures, a new peacock and some other interesting pieces whihc will come in throughout the next few months.

We've also just received our first batch of Leia Bells prints which are really wonderfull.  They would make for some great wall dressing in your living rooms and/or your childrens rooms.

We just received the new Dan McCarthy print titled "Hot Chocolate". 

We have just a few available and ready to ship right now. 

Also, we have our order in for next months print "The Ice Age".  You are welcome to pre-order it.

We are also going to offer prints by another up and coming artist named Leia Bell.  Her work is very contemporary and has a focus on wildlife and nature themes.  We'll have her prints within the next week or so but here are some images:

 

 

Lastly, we are working on uploading the Schleich 2008 products to the site.  We are anticipating new orders arriving towards the end of this month.

I've been seeing a pretty good increase in the number of schools and therapists over the last few months so I decided to add Bulk Items to our online catalog.

Basically, the Safari LTD Toob series is now packaged in larger quantities of 48, 72 and 192 piece counts.

Greetings all,

We’ve been in a packing and shipping frenzy for two months – getting in shape too!  Thank you all so much!

This week, we are slated to receive the rest of our Cog LTD Dino Discoveries order with that 36 piece collection of Toy Dinosaurs, Bruder Toy Trucks & Tractors, new BBI Tales & Legends Series, a restock of the BBI Knights & Romans, new dinosaur kits and science sets.  We made a bit of an error on the dinosaur figurines - we basically have two complete sets and two of each as individual figures. Many of these figures are the real rare, esoteric and rarely made pieces. Jump on them while you can before the holidays.

For those of you in the Cleveland, Ohio area, we sponsored a new Galapagos educational interactive exhibit which will run from December 8^th through March/April 2008 at the Childrens Museum of Cleveland.  We are supplying a bunch of the Safari LTD Galapagos series animals to help children learn about the unique creatures which live there.  If you are in the area be sure to stop by!

We are set to receive a Bullyland order later this week. There is a general restock and a lot of new products coming in which we have not carried before. As I’ve said before, as far as what the original toy animals were like seventy plus years ago, Bullyland is it. The paint finish and sculpt are absolutely traditional in every sense.

We will receive a Papo restock of Western Wagons and other items. We are working on Schleich and Safari LTD orders as well.

There is now a small selection of plush toy puppets from Folkmanis available too. They make lovely hand and finger puppets depicting various wildlife animals, fairytale and educational subject matter. Quality is top notch.

Bruder is on the way too. We have some excellent (and durable) construction and farm tractors posted to the site. These toys are great for both indoor and outdoor.

Bags of Plastic Toy Soldiers area on the way which make great stocking stuffers, great for school projects, basement maneuvers and dinner table tactics.

There is a new Dan McCarthy print in stock - Year of the Snake. It's a great decorative piece. If you live in a somewhat urban setting, this should be very recognizeable.

We have also just rebuilt our King & Country Catalog. For those of you not familiar, King & Country produces the best military miniature on the market. These figures are for collectors 12 and up. There is a heavy emphasis on WWII, Napoleonic era, Ancient Egypt, Rome, the Crusades, WWI and the American Civil War. We are working on our final order of the year so if you see something you would like to order please contact us ASAP to make sure we lock you in for the item(s).

Shipping is running same day to 24 hours. We are continuing shipping through Thursday the 20^th. Orders coming in on Friday must be shipped overnight to make sure it is received the following Monday.

We just received a good sized Schleich order.  Thanks for all your pre-orders on the Animal Nurseries and Castles – they will be shipping this afternoon and tomorrow.

We have just a few left on the Nurseries and two left on the castles so if you’re thinking about getting one or the other it’s time to jump.

We are receiving a large Papo shipment in a few days.  We have gone ahead and posted what we will be receiving so feel free to order.  We are set to get a lot of the minotaurs, centaurs, hoplites, castles, new 2007 release knights & fantasy figures and restock items.

A bunch of you dinosaur people began asking me about a hard to find company called Cog LTD.  It was not easy to find them but somehow I did.

Well, not only do they produce excellent obscure and popular little toy dinosaur figures (36 in the collection) but they also make toy dinosaur model kits, dig & build kits, interactive sets with cd-roms and various science kits like human anatomy, micro biology and other assorted educational toys and teaching aides.  Bet you weren’t expecting that! And, please don't tell me you don't know a child who loves to get his hands dirty digging up cool stuff!

The anatomy and micro biology sets really got me thinking about what’s coming up next in our struggles with our children’s education.  Now that reading and writing at grade level seem to be getting better, math and science are next.  These discovery kits will surely provide an excellent enhancement to the text books and classroom lessons and could very easily be used in the classroom itself.

Greetings all,

We just received a huge Safari LTD order.  I kept many of your requests in mind while assembling this order.  We have lots of Dinosaur babies, a larger selection of the Toob series animal playsets, a much larger selection of the Monterey Bay series, wildlife and farm animals.  We are also introducing the Blue Ribbon series Safari toy horses to the site.  They are pretty large and highly detailed – making great display pieces.

One of the Safari figures really stands out – the Domestic Male Turkey.  This figure comes the closest I’ve seen to the animal figurines made in Germany in the 1920’s and 1930’s.  Here is a photograph to show the comparison in quality of this figure compared to an 80 year old example: Turkey vs. Chicken

Also, I received confirmation that our Schleich order shipped out yesterday.  Schleich was heavily backlogged which led to their late shipping.  Many apologies for the delay on the pre-ordered items.  They will be out shortly.

We have begun to use our MySpace profile to host short videos of our tin toys, toy robots and other wind up classic toys.  We are by no means finished with this fun project.  More videos will be added over time – it’s actually a lot of work.

We have just received the first Dan McCarthy Silk Screen Print: Symbiosis.  These are now ready to ship.  The shipping charge is a flat 9.99 to cover Priority Mail.

We have placed a large Safari LTD order which is due in sometime next week.  This order will include a lot of figures from the Plastoy range.  Plastoy is another French based company similar to Schleich and Papo.  They produce the Egyptian Gods, dragons, samurai and toy knights.

We are getting into high gear with a monstrous Schleich order, some more Safari and generous re-stock of the new Papo releases.  Within the next two weeks we’ll be receiving some 2,000 pounds of new toys.

I want to thank all of you who pre-ordered the Schleich September releases.  We will ship your pre-ordered items after we have done our quality checks in house.  We estimate 2 to 3 weeks you should be receiving your items.

Now for the new stuff – we are adding an art print section to our website. 

We have made an agreement with an up-and-coming artist named Dan McCarthy to sell his signed and numbered silk screen prints.

Dan’s work is very contemporary with a wonderful take on landscapes, dinosaurs and human connections, cycle of life and urban landscape.

We felt that his prints would mix very well with our product offerings as they can be used to help introduce children to the cycle of life.  The landscapes are just a lot of fun so I figured I would grab them too and offer them up.

Each print is hand signed and numbered by Dan and are very limited runs.  Generally, about 350 of each print is made.

We have the first two prints up on the site right now.  Please note that they will be shipping in the next few weeks.

The prints will be shipped rolled up in a tube via USPS Priority Mail service.  We are not able to provide framing services at this time but this is something you can easily have done locally.
